ISP STORY: PART-I -> PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

to SRIK.KID2012@GMAIL.COM

Good Day,

Thank you for contacting our Executive Office regarding your #####-related concerns.

On November 11, 2019 our technician changed the connectors and inside wiring.
Our technician also set up an appointment for maintenance (JB29525549) which was
cancelled by the maintenance team because there was no issue.  On November 20, 2019,
our tech team advised there was no promise of credit and the service was not impacted 60 days
however, as a courtesy, on November 20, 2019, a credit for 1 month of service, $40.00, was
applied and will reflect on the statement dated December 16, 2019.

Please contact me directly at 866-642-4868 EXT 132-3004, at your earliest convenience
so we can discuss your concerns. I am available between the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm CST
Monday through Friday.

If your availability falls outside of those hours, you may communicate through email and
I will respond at my earliest convenience. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Hello Ms XYZ (Name taken out for Privacy reasons):

First off, thanks to the tech support team for considering our request and for looking into the
issue in hand.

Coming to the core issue:

This information presented in your email appears to be contradictory to what the technician had
mentioned and what the person whom I spoke to might have stated.

There was certainly an upstream issue not only at our house, but also at our neighbor's house
as stated by the technician, who even verified the 60 days data that was shown to me. This issue
was the reason for the technician putting forth the recommendation to have your mainline team
visit our neighborhood to verify the connections. For that matter, #### had come in the first place
when the remote tech support specialist found off-spec readings for the upstream connection.

Secondly, there were also downstream issues specific for our house which got rectified by ####,
the technician (not certain about the spelling), by taking care of internal connectors and splitters.

When it comes to service not disturbed/impacted and was in use, when the offered speed is
100 Mbps and if we were to get even 25% of the speed, a common user would not recognize
the difference. We started noticing issues while utilizing for specific applications and while
losing connection periodically, which would not be felt by everyone. However, what is the
point in getting a service, which is not in line with the offered and paid for service?

Ms XYZ:

I forgot to ask in my last email whether ports 80 and 443 are blocked by #### or not.
I am having issues with those ports while testing for certain applications.

Thanks in advance for your clarification.

Sincerely,
Srikanth.

Good Day,

I am not sure how to respond to your question regarding ports 80 and 443 so will
request someone from our tech support team to reach out to you.

Thanks
XYZ

Since then, we did not hear any response in this regard.

What speeds are we really seeing? What else are we going to capture here?

1. Our speed test results

2. Our website and app created for this purpose to increase awareness towards internet speed testing

3. Recent privacy email from ISP and reality with the new law which gives ISP official rights to sell consumer data

4. Is selling personal data all new or was it done even before without much digital law in place?

5. What other actions are we taking and have taken in the past from our end
in order to make the playing field more leveled?

This is a tough playground when the top 30 companies account for around 12.75 trillion dollars in market cap in 2020 (as of recently), which increased since August 2019 from ~$11.667 trillion - as we all know, this is right before the election time.

Is n't funny that market cap of top 30 companies increased by a trillion dollars in one year when it took decades to reach 11.7T in the first place?

Added to it, there were IPOs with unheard valuation in the recent times, which might be too far away from financial fundamentals.

By the way, do you know what is the global population and how many employees does the top 30 global companies based on market cap employ?

Wait and watch for this series to evolve.
